Being able to enjoy a lunch set at a Michelin-starred restaurant for 800 yen (Cad$10) is absolutely incredible. The chef focuses on 1 main ingredient (when we were there it was sardines) and creates a variety of different dishes from it. Every dish tastes amazing. Best value and quality for such a low price.

Price was cheap for a one Michelin starred restaurant. Food was good but we felt like being chased to finish our food fast. Courses were already well prepared before we could even complete having the current course. Furthermore chef make us feel very uncomfortable as he was making jokes in Japanese about us foreigner which eventually lead to all Japanese guest to laugh . After all , food was great but atmosphere was a no no !

These are some of the laziest people I have ever met. This is a classic example of undeserving people just getting lucky. This place is terrible, the service is even worse! Never saw a smile in the entire building, and there was HAIR IN MY SARDINES!! Terrible experience; I heard this place was cheap, not run by cheap people

1 Michelin started restaurant that does an inexpensive lunch set menu option of around 1100 yen. All dishes feature sardines, and we had the yanagawanabe option, which was deep fried sardines steamed with egg and onions. We also chose 2 half serve side dishes of sashimi and deep fried fillet. Quickly served and a great way to check out a restaurant that has dinner prices of around 15,000+ yen

A truly transcendent sardine experience, and at only ¥800 for the lunch set too!Having only encountered sardines in their cooked and tinned form, the sashimi was an eye-opener with the fish’s mineral flavour recalling the taste of oysters. Amazing. Would definitely go again and maybe check out what they have to offer on their dinner menu.

I absolutely loved this place. Be careful, last order is not closing time ;). The tempura pieces are sooo thin and crispy and light, wow. The sardines obviously are great. I paid about ¥2000 for a set and some sides. Will come again. Queue moved like any other ~20-30min wait. English menu available. Friendly waiers.

Absolutely loved this place. Had a pretty long queue for lunch but it was well worth the place. They specialize in sardines during their lunch service and they prepare it so well! It’s such a humble dish but it’s so so good. I’ll leave the rest up to you
